Lena Muller
Ms. Bång has worked in the addiction field within the Swedish prison and probation service for 10 years, motivating substance users into drug addiction treatment. In her clinical work she has met women and men with multiple problems including mental illness, sexual abuse, criminal lifestyle, domestic violence, prostitution, homelessness and substance misuse. She also worked as an instructor for conflict- and self-defense for staff within the prison. Since 2006 she has been treating family members who are affected by substance use within the family. She have trained and supervised hundreds of personnel in different municipalities in Sweden who meets with people with substance misuse and mental health problems. She is also a trainer in Motivational Interviewing & a member of MINT. In addition to this she holds CRAFT-trainings in groups and individual treatment for families. She received her bachelor degree in general criminology at the University of Stockholm, Sweden, in 2001. She has also studied Forensic Psychology, Substance Abuse Treatment and Domestic Violence. In 2015 Carina became the first in Scandinavia to become certified as a CRAFT therapist after her training with Dr. Robert Meyers in the USA. Carina will focus on implementing of CRAFT in Sweden, the recommended treatment from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare.
About class>>Ms. Kuecker received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Denver and her Bachelors in Social Work from Wartburg College. She has worked in the addictions and criminal justice field as a bilingual social worker since 2009, providing services in both English and Spanish. Ms. Kuecker began her career working with judicially-involved adolescents at Denver Juvenile Probation-TASC, delivering in-home and office-based treatment. While at Denver Juvenile Probation-TASC, she completed the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) certification in 2010 and the Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training (CRAFT) certification in 2011. She became an A-CRA supervisor and coder with Chestnut Health Systems as a contract A-CRA rater in 2011 and a CRAFT coder and supervisor in 2012. Currently, Ms. Kuecker works for Robert J. Meyers & Assoc. as a coder and trainer. She is a Social Worker with Cherry Creek School District. Ms. Kuecker resides in Aurora, Colorado.
About class>>Hendrik G. Roozen is a clinical psychologist working in the field of addiction treatment in the Netherlands. He is the director of the outpatient treatment services of Bouman Mental Health Care (GGZ), location Spijkenisse. Furthermore, he is affiliated faculty at Erasmus University Medical Centre, Department of Forensic Psychiatry in Rotterdam. His Ph.D. dissertation was completed in 2005 at the Department of Clinical Psychology, Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, and was entitled "The Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and naltrexone in the treatment of addiction". Correspondingly, his interests include behavioral oriented treatments such as CRA, contingency management, and pharmacological treatments related to substance use disorders.
